Excellent basic hotel. It’s 5 mins walk to the nearest train station so it was easy to go to Downtown Barcelona on your own. The facilities are clean. They dont have a fridge though but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Everything else was good. We also booked with the breakfast option. Breakfast was good. Nothing special but enough to start your day and we didn’t have to worry about looking for places when we went out. Staff were very nice and helpful. Would recommend.

Great hotel for one night stay
We had an adjoining room, woman next door was on her phone and we could hear her whole conversation, this was not the hotels fault and once she shut up we slept very well. Room was clean, shower and bathroom adequate for a one night stay, staff were very polite. Breakfast included as continental style, if you’re hungry you’ll eat.

The hotel is excellent, with friendly staff and decent breakfast. However, there are a few downsides, such as its distance from the city and the lack of dining areas except for online orders, which few companies only deliver. I have an issue with Domoni's. They took orders but did not deliver the food due to their location.
We must appreciate the efforts of the front desk and cleaning staff. They always keep the location clean and accessible.

Standard HI but flawed
The usual HI look and feel but in a business district without much nearby in the way of restaurants and bars. Stayed twice here in the last month and on both occasions had a room with a nice bath but no plug for it! How pointless is that? Parking spaces are also quite small and difficult to manoeuvre in and out of.

Hotel reviews and Formula 1 F1 tips
The hotel is good and the staff are really pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean, well-stocked with plenty of towels, soaps and shampoo, and the rooms are a good size. Breakfast is okay - not loads of choice but it's fine. There is no restaurant for an evening meal nor are there shops nearby. There is a restaurant next door, but it has limited opening hours. We had no choice but to order Uber Eats until we found the supermarket at the station (details below) which was incredibly expensive. There are vending machines in the hotel lobby, but again, they're expensive.
In terms of this being a good choice for the Formula 1, it is. It's a bit out of the way but there are some advantages to that, but here are some tips that might help...
Don't use the nearest station, Sant Joan. Instead, use Estacion de tren Sant Cugat Coll Fava. It's appropriately a 40 minute walk from the hotel, but the hotel reception will call you a taxi - which arrived within a few minutes, and cost €10-15 from the hotel to the station. Ask the hotel receptionist for the contact details of the taxi company so you can call for a taxi back to the hotel at the end of the day. The train to Montmelo runs every hour and takes 20 mins - timetables can be found on the trains website. The trains were never busy (one of the advantages of being out of the way!). Tickets are €6 per adult for a return journey (enter your pin for the machine to work with cards, even if you're using contactless!). There are plenty of free shuttle buses outside Montmelo Station to the circuit. On the way back, you don't need to queue with everyone going to Barcelona, but again, the train only runs every hour so you'll be asked to wait in Montmelo station until the right train arrives. You'll need the R8 train towards Martorell - station security tend to try and push everyone towards Barcelona trains - ignore them!
A couple of minutes walk outside the station at Sant Cugat Coll Fava, there is a good-sized Condis supermarket which is well-stocked - we used the microwave at the hotel to heat up some meals one night - they didn't seem to mind!
Overall, I would stay here again for the F1.

Lost Money Due to Inflexible Policy: Holiday Inn Barcelona-Sant Cugat
I recently booked a two-night stay for two rooms at the Holiday Inn Barcelona-Sant Cugat through Expedia. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel my reservation. Despite informing Expedia well in advance, the hotel strictly enforced its cancellation policy, resulting in no refund.
While I understand cancellation policies exist, the lack of flexibility, especially considering it was my first cancellation and the additional cost of losing my flight booking, was disappointing.
This experience has impacted my perception of the hotel's guest-friendliness. Future travelers should be aware of the hotel's strict cancellation policy, particularly if unforeseen circumstances might arise during their travel plans. Please avoid this hotel ,and find more flexible one.

This hotel is not within a walking distance from the town where restaurants are located. One has to drive or take a taxi to have a lunch or diner. The room is small, the air condition does not work well and the window can only be open to a small gap, so the room temperature is often too high and the air in the room is not circulated enough.

Nice Stay in Sant Cugat!
I have stayed in this hotel several times. Personal is very nice and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable. Free parking and breakfast is included but does not have a good food variety.
Hotel is far away from the train station and from bus station. There are not restaurants or shops near by.

A valid option for Barcelona, but certainly not the best
We stayed at the hotel during a trip. The Hotel is far from the city center, in what seemed to be an industrial area with no services.
The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also in good condition.
The breakfast was good, with all the basic options, but not much variety. It was a little crowded, but there was no problem finding a table.
Parking was free, but the space is not very large. However, it seemed like finding parking outside was easy.
Reception said there is a train station nearby, but we didn't check it out.
Probably the correct rate is 3.5, but as it is not possible, 3 was given and seemed more correcta than a 4.

cons: If you book this place, do not carry heavy luggage’s (if you plan on public transportation). You need two different metro cards, and the S2 line closes around 9:30pm. The hotel is about an hour away from the main city of Barcelona. Taxi are not easy to get at night even if you have an uber. and it can cost you approximately €70. Pros: The hotel is clean, the staff is nice, and the breakfast is great. The S2 train takes you directly from Barcelona to the hotel and back. (Plaza Catalunya).

Excellent upgrade and relaxing stay!
Thank you for th upgrade to a Suite absolutely fantastic surprise after a long journey. Checked in by Albert who was very helpful.Platinum amenity dispensed at the bar by young chap was great and very much appreciated. Ordered Dominoes as very limited Food options no issue but did want a full open lobby menu but as we had a suite pizza on the balcony was fun. Rooms spotless and well maintained overall a great stay.

Good location for our needs, unfortunately the bed was not very comfortable a twin mattress with springs, not able to get a good nights sleep,also not a fan of the bathtub shower arrangement, I think they are popular in Spain but a walk-in shower I feel is much better in the design of a bathroom,appreciated the breakfast selection,felt they did a good job there

We really appreciate the helpful staff. Property manager Mr. Miguel was really helpful. We were tourists and facing language barrier to understand the local transportation and other stuff, Mr. Miguel explained everything to us in English very nicely, suggested best way to travel by Metro with detailed information on stations and also suggested ways to save money by opting for family ticket options. That made our traveling safe and easy. Also helped us with cloak room facility for our extra luggage as we were going on the Cruise.

Staffs are very nice! There’s AC in the room so it was not too hot (but there were mosquitoes though) . Generally clean and quiet. One thing would like to mention is the train that goes there is not a metro so the hola Barcelona card will not work, had to buy another ticket for the train (s2 line).

Had a fabulous stay here. Excellent staff, wonderful daily breakfast.Very clean, quiet location, just plan on a 25 min train ride to downtown Barcelona to see the sights. There is a small restaurant beside the hotel that has great food, friendly staff and cold drinks.Note- closed on weekends.

Awful, Uncaring Customer Service From the Iron Age
Had the misfortune to be hospitalised before a planned hotel stay in Barcelona. This unforseen, stay, surgery and recovery time makes the booking now impossible. Tried to negotiate the terms of my cancellation without losing all my money, which fell on uncaring and unsympathetic deaf ears, aligned to an unprofessional, disjointed service, that was unable to make common sense prvail. Profits before people mentality at the heart of what Booking.Com represents Genius membership, don't make me laugh. The hire car company, Gold Car, did everting and more. Booking.Com did absolute nothing.
Numerous communications to the agent and hotel from a hospital bed, on a drip, during incredible pain and not one evidence of a moral compass. The hotel in question was the Holiday Inn at San Cugat, who lacked emotional intelligence and empathy for changing needs. All the Ts&C's and all Corporate waffle to hide behind and no reale desire to help. You've lost a loyal customer who was shocked at your ineptitude. What happens now? The agent and the hotel group will exploit the terms, rebook the hotel space, bank my money and double their income. Utterly shameful and sincerely hope none of you are able to sleep in your beds tonight
