The staff was so wonderful and helpful. The hotel is older/dated, but clean and comfortable. It’s very close to the train station and walking distance to the bus station. The neighbourhood was safe even when coming back late at night. Many amenities nearby.

Brilliant location, close to Temple Meads Train Station and the buses. Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were great, clean and tidy, cleaned regularly and had all the basics covered. Breakfast was great value, good selection included cooked breakfast, pastries, yoghurt and fruit as well as cereals - set us up for the day. Would definitely return and would recommend.

Helpful staff
Felt welcomed and comfortable.
Tv didn’t work but a team member checked the power and then the remote and eventually replaced the Tv. Very quick and efficient.
As I walk with a stick a staff member helped load my breakfast plate and on the second day remembered what I chose the previous day and asked if I wanted the same.

Very poor experience
The 5am fire alarm was less than ideal, and of course this was totally out of the control of the hotel. What was totally unacceptable though was the total lack of hot water! No hot water for a shower was awful and inexcusable. The bar/ lounge area was very shabby.

The staff were amazing! They were very welcoming and helpful. My sister and I got stuck without transportation back to the hotel and the staff made sure a taxi came to pick us up. We were greeted each time we entered the reception area and always had cheerful help if we needed it. Thank you for a pleasant and comfortable stay. You are doing a great job! Loved the hot breakfast each morning and the pizza and drinks in the evening.

Nice hotel i had room 105. The guests in 107 had no respect for other residents. They were loud, swearing and playing music until 9.30pm. They then went out returning at 4.30am. Shouting swearing playing loud music until 7am when i assume they fell asleep. I was exhausted. I did mention to reception when i checked out at 9am. They said they would speak to the guests!!! Which was a little too late!!!

Over all the room was adequate and was clean. The shower drain did not flow very fast which meant that you were standing in dirty water very quickly.
The cooked breakfast was also of poor quality. It had been cooked many hours in advance and was not fresh.

Love staying at this hotel but unfortunately we paid for a twin room but got a double - my friend was on a camp bed! We did have a voucher for 1 drink but still found it unacceptable considering we booked months ago. Staff were friendly and clearly enjoyed their work. Overall was a pleasant stay

Great Stay with Breakfast and Convenient Location
I had a great experience staying at the Holiday Inn Express Bristol. The double room was a decent size, clean, and had good air conditioning—perfect for a comfortable night’s rest. One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet, which was included in the stay. There was a good variety of options, and it really set us up for the day. The hotel is also just a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station, making it super convenient for travel. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location for a short break in Bristol. Only a few minutes from the main entrance to Bristol Temple Meads Station.
Hotel could benefit from an upgrade, bedrooms looking tired but fine for a night away.
Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, do not cater re special requests, eg poached eggs, only served scrambled but they were fine.
Special mention must go to Ellie, who was very knowledgeable about the area, and work tirelessly on reception and at breakfast and always with a smile, a credit to the Holiday Inn, thank you.

Always like a Holiday Inn Express stay wherever in the world. The team and service here are great. Only faults we found was that its a bit dated, the double bed was just that and so was a bit on the cramped side as we are not a small couple. Great stay otherwise.

A city I’ve never been to, but thoroughly enjoyed it, great cycle scheme and routes, though one did break down on me, got to visit a few interesting places, a couple of boat trips, definitely going to go again as lots I would like to explore. Maybe a Balloon trip.

Good value for money. I wouldn't probably stay here for a long trip, but for a couple of days it's perfect. Staff is very polite and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage for free before the check-in and after check-out. Breakfast is rather generous and versatile, not everything is delicious but you can easily find what you like. We were concerned that the hotel is on a busy street but we did not hear any traffic noise.

We could check in early as I’m a IHG member, really handy for leaving our bags, using the toilet.
The best thing about staying are the fabulous staff, they are so friendly and helpful. So enthusiastic, they wanted to help with directions, asking about our stay-We were going to a concert , myself and teenage daughter and she loved the whole experience.
The breakfast was delicious, all hot and lots to choose.

Need to sort their systems out
Check in fine, reception staff whilst not the most engaging were pleasant enough.
Room was ok, standard cheap enough room but no real issues.
Issues start with the bar and food. Firstly they had no pizza as they had sold out apparently. This was at 6.40pm.
Next the bar is apparently 24 hours however after a certain time they will refuse to honour your allowance which the business provide, everything has to be paid for. This is despite having an allowance on the account which they freely admit they can see. I have had this issue in IHG before and it simply solved as it has been in numerous hotels before, they put it through on allowance and then if I go over I pay it on check out. I have done this in numerous hotels throughout the country, never a problem expect this one would not do so, everything had to be paid there and then and upon check out the £63 allowance that was left was wasted.
If they take bookings with allowances then they need to be able to honour said allowances, they need to either bring their systems in line or find a way.

Hotel is very convenient for Bristol Temple Meads station, being situated at the bottom of the station access road, an approximate 3 minute walk.
Rooms very typical of a Holiday Inn Express. Clean, warm, and functional. Hotel was priced appropriately for a city centre hotel.
Breakfast was compliant, usual buffet with plenty of choice. Hotel staff were also polite and helpful.

A cold time of it.
My first [and hopefully last] emergency visit due to disruption to my travel plans. It took ages to book in at the desk and the double-bed room was freezing. Cold air belting out from the window area and more cold air from the fan heater which evidently wasn't working. Luckily, the staff brought me a portable heater which, on full blast, kept me alive in the night. I wasn't interested in the 'free' breakfast and, for my 8 hour stay, was charged a penny under £100 which I thought was excessive!

Budget hotel, five star customer service
Such a lovely surprise for a budget hotel. It was clean and bright, room was ample sized and everything fresh and comfy. Bed particularly comfy! Vegan breakfast options were hash browns, steamed toms, baked beans, fruit, toast, vegan spread, vegan milk. Also we asked for vegan sausages and we got some as well. All very hot and tasty.
Most amazing though of all is the staff. We saw so many different team members on reception and across the hotel and all are so friendly and lovely. Really premium customer service. Whoever created that vibe or who trains everyone has this spot on. They’re all epic and it might be a budget hotel, but it’s a five star customer service experience.

We stayed 4 Nights, great location, we were on the 6th floor directly opposite temple meads station, also buses running frequently to the city centre. Restaurants and bars to harbour side all in walking distance.The hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable, choice of pillows for your comfort. Breakfast ok a little repetitive, hot or cold option served and maybe a choice of vegan, vegetarian sausages could be added.

Stayed for one night on New Years Eve, excellent location and very comfortable. Our room was extremely clean and tidy which was unexpected after reading some reviews! Also left a very sentimentally valuable necklace in my room, the staff member on reception when I called, named Shay, was brilliant - efficient, friendly and knew exactly what to do - talked me through the process of getting the necklace back - really appreciated it, will be back again!

This was for an overnight stay after arriving at Bristol Temple Meads train station, before catching the bus to Bristol Airport the next day, and it was ideal. A couple of minutes walk from the train station and bus stop, the price was fantastic and included a buffet breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable with everything you need and an excellent shower in the bathroom. We arrived late in the day, but the bar did pizza and toasted sandwiches. Would thoroughly recommend.

Was made aware of the lift not working so telephoned to request a lower floor.Was put on hold three times and on my fourth attempt the receptionist actually laughed when I said please don't put me on hold.No option but to cancel the booking and make a booking for another hotel
